Cerrejón Mine, the largest open-pit coal mining operation in Latin America and one of the most extensive in the world, captured in an exclusive edition of 5 units from the acclaimed Ultradistancia Satellite Fine Art series by Federico Winer.
The artwork unfolds as a vast horizontal composition where multiple extraction zones appear as autonomous territories connected by thin lines of infrastructure. From above, the mine reveals a layered topography of terraces and voids, rendered in vibrant chromatic fields that contrast sharply with the surrounding arid landscape. The interplay between geological strata and engineered forms transforms the site into a complex visual map, where industrial intervention becomes abstract pattern.
This elevated perspective invites the viewer to contemplate the monumental scale of extraction and its enduring inscription on the land, blurring the boundary between cartography, landscape, and painting.
Each artwork is individually edited and unique, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. Printed on museum-quality fine art paper, with acrylic or wooden framing options available for the collector.

Full Bleed Float Frame
Print is classically framed with a solid wood black or white frame under acrylic glass mount. Frame is 0.79 in. (2 cm.) thick all around; Paper used with this option is Fujicolor Crystal Professional Archive.
The frames complete and accent the pictures for a beautiful visual edge.
UV Acrylic Frame
This acrylic frame adds a studio-like professional touch to your decor. The acrylic photo print consists of a photo print laminated under a 1/16 in. (2 mm) ultra-transparent acrylic plate and sealed on the back with a 0,11 in. (3 mm) aluminium plate to provide extra stability.
The photo print is placed behind the acrylic plate thus delivering a unique depth effect.
Frame Mounting
An Integrated Hanging System Comes Standard to ensure your design receives optimal exposure. When your framed print arrives, you can hang it up right away. The wall-mount is pre-installed on the frame and is included in the price.
