THE ARTWORK
The rhythm of cultivation.
A landscape woven in color.
In Zacatecas, broad expanses of amber, orange and vermilion meet clusters of deep green and near-black circles. Narrow strips and small rectangular fields shift direction across the image, while pale settlements and rugged terrain interrupt the cultivated patterns. Set in Mexico, this work from Federico Winer’s FIELDS series brings together contrasting geometries, from the rounded forms of irrigated fields to the tightly packed divisions of agricultural land.
