A landscape drawn in lines.
An unexpected order from above.
In Antapaccay Mine, pale blue and turquoise terraces emerge from deep black, connected by winding threads of ochre, gold and mineral white. The excavations form luminous concentrations of detail, while roads spread outward towards a neighbouring settlement, whose compact grid introduces a different rhythm into the landscape.
Located in the Cusco region of southern Peru, this vast copper mining operation becomes, from space, a study of interconnected forms. Repeated terraces register the depth of excavation; routes and industrial structures reveal the movement and organisation that sustain it. Together, they place the mine within a wider inhabited territory, shaped by the relationship between geology and human intervention.
