THE ARTWORK
The shape of a city.
A map drawn by time.
In Moscow, avenues radiate from a dense historic core while concentric roads curve back on themselves, like the rings of a tree. Slate blue and grey lines trace the streets against a pale ground of cream and blush pink, and the river loops through in broad, luminous ribbons. A single red oval offers a quiet point of focus. The panoramic format lets the eye travel laterally, between the geometry of planning and the irregular texture of a city built over centuries.
