THE ARTWORK
A different distance.
A new way of seeing.
In Hope Brook Mine, amber and gold meet scattered blue and violet waters, linked by slender routes across an expansive black ground. This former gold mine in Newfoundland produced more than 750,000 ounces of gold and lies within a 24,475-hectare property. Viewed from above, its volcanic and sedimentary geology and the traces of mining infrastructure become a composition of concentrated colour and open space, revealing a landscape shaped by geological time and human intervention.
