SALAR DEL HOMBRE MUERTO – Catamarca, Argentina

HOMBRE MUERTO SALT FLAT – Catamarca, Argentina

Amid mountains of silence and rarefied air, the Hombre Muerto Salt Flat emerges as a surface from another world. From a satellite perspective, its evaporation ponds form a composition of iridescent planes and lines where shades of cyan, green, and pure white blend with the vast Andean desert.

At this frontier between the mineral and the technological, the image captures the trace of lithium — a contemporary heartbeat pulsing within an ancient landscape.

Part of the ULTRADISTANCIA ARGENTINE MINES series, and the UN CIELO PROFUNDO: ULTRADISTANCIAS Y MICROSCOPÍAS exhibition.
