THE ARTWORK
Contours crossing the mountains.
Warm earth within a cool terrain.
In San Cristobal Mine, turquoise passages run through a landscape of pale, sharply articulated ridges. An ochre excavation draws the eye to one side, balanced by darker earth tones elsewhere in the image. Fine lines describe changes in elevation, while broader areas of color connect the separate forms. The panoramic composition gives these contrasts space to develop, turning the terrain into a sequence of folds, openings and visual currents that carry the eye across the work.
