THE ARTWORK
A different distance.
A new way of seeing.
In Corta Atalaya Mine, concentric excavations unfold within a broad sweep of ochre, pale green and mineral white, interrupted by dark pools and vivid red accents. The monumental scale of this historic copper mine becomes legible through the repetition of its terraces, while roads and neighbouring settlements reveal its place within a wider inhabited landscape. Seen from above, successive layers of extraction form a record of the land’s transformation, suspended against deep black.
